Apologies for the long silence...!

After our great press in April I found myself with a huge inbox of offers of help. It has taken me a long time to get to grips with it all and get back to people.
Apologies if you were waiting/are still waiting. You lovely Scottish Ladies will be hearing from me this week. I had so many offers of help that I had to separate you all out by region and then town/city!

Last week I had the privilege of being asked to sit on the Charities Panel for the Home Office Women's Conference. Alongside me sat representatives from Women's Aid/Refuge and Broken Rainbow.

The statistics they mentioned remain hard to listen to:
A woman will typically endure 35 incidents of domestic violence before she calls in the police. THIRTY FIVE.
Where there are children present in a relationship, they nearly always witness the episodes of violence.

But what really hit me was a passing comment that the Women's Aid/Refuge worker said: 'People always say "Why doesn't she leave?". You never hear them say "Why doesn't he stop?"'

Thank you for your continued support.
